Highlights
The highlights of the Board's activities during the current year were:
- Mr David Daniel completed his term as a Board member and Mr Don Moffatt resigned from the Board due to other commitments. Two new members, Mr Lawrie Jefferson and Mr Barrie Mason, were appointed.
- Identification cards being made available to qualified engineers and trainees.
- Approval of a "Standing Orders and Policy" Manual.
- Release of the final report "Review of Board Costs and User Charges" relating to the services provided by the Ministry of Commerce, and fees and charges for the services the Board provides.
- Release to industry of the discussion paper relating to the review of the Board's fees and charges.
- Introduction of Electrical Safety Certificates.
- Presentation to the Minister of Energy of the review of the operation of the Electricity Act 1992.
- Approval of a "Recognition of Overseas Qualifications and Experience" Manual.
- Continuing development of strong associations with Industry Training Organisations.
