Practising Licences

The Board recognises that a registered electrical worker is competent if they meet the requirements for the issuing of a practising licence. He or she must have a licence if working for payment or reward. There were 20,605 practising licences issued for the 1998/1999 practising licence year (1 April 1998 to 30 June 1999). There were 20,032 issued the previous year, 18,818 in the 1996/97 year and 19,206 in the 1995/96 year.*

* This report shows the total number of licences issued for a practising licence year (regardless of when a licence was actually issued). The number of licences shown as being issued is consistent with the practising licence fee income stated in the Board’s budget. Previous reports showed the number of licences processed and issued during the year regardless of the year for which the licence was valid, (e.g. the numbers previously shown for the 1995/96 year included licences for the 1995/96 and 1996/97 years).
