Certificates of Compliance
The law requires electrical workers to issue a Certificate of
Compliance to their client when they have installed electrical
wiring and fittings. The certificate is an assurance that the
work is safe and complies with the Electricity Act 1992 and its
associated regulations.
The Board and its network of resellers sold 106,000
certificates that generated revenue of $780,000 during the fiscal
year 2000. This revenue is lower than estimated due a reduction
in the price of commercial and industrial (including six-monthly
ongoing) certificates in November 1999.
In March 2000 the domestic and commercial certificates were
combined. The following charts reflect this change from three
types to two.
