This list of Approved Competence Programme Providers is provided as a service to electrical workers wishing to update their safety tuition requirements for a practising licence.

Who can issue Warrants of Electrical Fitness?

  • Electrical Inspectors
  • Electrical Engineers
  • Electricians in certain circumstances only, see regulation 78 (1) C.

All prescribed Electrical Work on Mobile Medical Facilities must also be inspected (see Regulation 70).

Example:

Q Who can issue a warrant of electrical fitness for a connectable installation that has had no prescribed electrical work carried out on it for over five years?, (work requiring certification under regulation 66).
A An electrical inspector or a person, who immediately before the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 came into force, was authorised by the Secretary to issue warrants of electrical fitness under regulation 97 of the superseded Electricity Regulations 1997.
