5. November 2002 Electricians Theoretical Examination

On receiving the results of the November 2002 electricians theory examination, the Board was concerned that the marks were lower than expected.

An independent review of the examination was carried out and based on that review, the Board considers that the overall level of difficulty for the examination may have been too high, with only a limited number of candidates having the depth of knowledge to be able to pass the examination comfortably.

After considering the options available, the Board has decided to provide unsuccessful candidates in the November 2002 examination the opportunity to resit without having to pay any Board fees.

A special examination will be conducted on 10 May 2003 for unsuccessful candidates. Alternatively the unsuccessful candidates can enter the June or November national examinations without having to pay Board fees.
