6. Compliance Programme

Some of you recently received a letter requesting copies of certificates of compliance to be returned to us - thanks to all who have replied or contacted us.

Now that the requested certificates of compliance have been returned, a range of electrical work will be selected for an audit inspection. The person who certified the work done and the property owner will be advised by letter that the work has been selected for audit and that a registered inspector will be contacting them to arrange a suitable time for audit inspection.

The electrical worker will also be invited to attend the audit inspection and our recommendation is to attend, as the inspector's role is not only to check for compliance but also to provide advice as required. Once the inspection has been completed a copy of the inspector's report will be given or posted to the electrical worker and the property owner.

When all the audit inspections have been completed, the reports will be collated and analysed by the Electrical Workers Licensing Group and the results published in ELECTRON.

If you have been chosen to participate in this round of inspections, your file will be lagged in the database and you will be excluded from audit inspections for the next 36 months.
