Appointments to the BoardThe Associate Minister of Energy Hon Harry Duynhoven has announced the appointment of Donald Stuart Pryde and the reappointment of Murray William Willis and David Timothy Elms to the Board for a period of three years from 23 February 2003. Don Pryde is from Dunedin and has been employed by Delta Utility Services Limited and its predecessors since 1976. He has served on the previous Otago/Southland Electrical Apprenticeship Committee and has been a member of the New Zealand Engineering Printing and Manufacturing Union's National Council since 1994. Don has been the Union's South Island Regional President and the National Junior Vice President. He has also been a school Board of Trustee Member. Murray Willis is from Great Barrier Island and is self employed specialising in generation and communication systems. He is Presiding Member of the Board, a position he has held since 2001. Murray has wide experience in the electronics and electrical industry both in New Zealand and overseas and has held many management, Board and Committee positions during his career. Murray is a member of the Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand. Tim Elms is from North Canterbury and just prior to his appointment to the Board in 2000 sold his interests in a significant electrical contracting business in Christchurch. He has a long record of significant contributions to the Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand and the Electro technology Industry Training Organisation. Tim has wide experience in the general electrical wiring sector of the industry both in New Zealand and overseas.
Presiding and Deputy Presiding member of the BoardAt the February 2004 meeting of the Board Murray Willis and Barrie Mason were re-elected to their respective positions of Presiding and Deputy Presiding members of the Board.
