Apply for a Provisional Licence

How to apply for a Provisional Licence, if you have been invited to do so by the Board.

Some applicants may be eligible for a Provisional Licence, which enables a person to work without supervision but limits that work. The Board will advise applicants if they should apply for a Provisional Licence or Limited Certificate when they apply for a registration. They may only be one small step away from registration and a Provisional Licence will enable them to work while they complete that step, e.g. one exam to pass in 4 months’ time.

Apply for a registration

A holder of a Provisional Licence cannot certify their work and cannot supervise others.

A Provisional Licence is only issued for 6 months while the holder completes outstanding registration requirements.
