Supervisors – changes of supervisor and their responsibilities

What you and your supervisor need to do if you change your employment and/or supervisor.

Anytime you have a change in supervisor the EWRB needs to approve that relationship, to ensure that the supervision will be appropriate.

See below the responsibilities of both parties

Limited Certificate Holders

  1. If you leave your employment and do not have a new job and new supervisor yet:
    1. Send us an email to info@ewrb.govt.nz advising so that we can suspend your Limited Certificate pending further information.
    2. When you get a new job and new supervisor, fill in the first section of the Supervision Declaration form then get your new supervisor to fill in the rest and sign the declaration.
  2. If you leave your employment for a new job and have a new supervisor already, fill in the first section of the Supervision Declaration form, get your new supervisor to fill in the rest and sign the declaration.

Supervisor

  1. If you have a supervised person leave your company or employment send us an email to info@ewrb.govt.nz advising so that we can suspend that Limited Certificate pending further information.
  2. If within your company roles change and the supervision of a trainee or Limited Certificate holder is taken over by another person advise the trainee to fill in the first section of the Supervision Declaration form, then get the new supervisor to fill in the rest and sign the declaration.
  3. If you take on a new trainee or Limited Certificate holder and a check of the Public register confirms that they have a current TLC or LC then you should advise of a change of supervisor. Advise the trainee to fill in the first section of the Supervision Declaration form then fill in the rest and sign the declaration.

You may submit this form via the website portal
