Electric vehicle charging installations
The Electricity (Safety) Amendment Regulations 2025, cite AS/NZS 3000:2018 (the Wiring Rules), which includes requirements for the installation of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).
WorkSafe recommends practitioners follow its Guidelines for Safe Electric Vehicle Charging, in addition to the requirements in AS/NZS 3000:2018.
The guidelines continue to support the safe installation of EVSE. The guide provides additional guidance - such as periodic assessments and details on how to check and test EVSE following installation - that are not covered in the Wiring Rules.
