Section 158 Review of the Electricity Act — Finalised in July 2026
Under section 158 of the Electricity Act 1992, the Electrical Workers Registration Board must provide the Minister for Building and Construction with a report every 5 years.
The report reviews the operation of the Act. The review must consider whether any amendments to the Act are necessary or desirable.
The latest review report, finalised in July 2026, is now available. The report identifies a range of amendments that may improve the effectiveness and operation of the Act.
