Stepped pathway
The stepped pathway provides a faster way for registered Electrical Service Technicians and Electrical Installers to ‘step up’ to the next registration class.
The stepped pathway recognises the experience you have already gained and allows you to ‘step up’ to the next registration class without meeting the full practical experience requirements normally required for first registration.
Who can use the stepped pathway?
You may be eligible if you are:
- an Electrical Service Technician seeking registration as an Electrical Installer
- an Electrical Installer seeking registration as an Electrician.
If you do not meet the stepped pathway requirements, you may still be eligible to apply through the standard New Zealand experience pathway, which has different practical experience requirements.
