Traction Line Mechanic (Endorsed Mining Operations)
Required work experience
To become a Traction Line Mechanic (Endorsed Mining Operations) you must have:
- Held registration as a Traction Line Mechanic with the EWRB in New Zealand for a period of not less than 2 years
- Completed not less than 2 years of practical experience in the prescribed electrical work of a Traction Line Mechanic
- Completed not less than 1 year (2000 hours) of practical experience in a mining operation or substantially similar practical experience satisfactory to the Board
- Adequate knowledge, training, skills, and experience satisfactory to the Board of:
- The control of earth potential rise
- The use of relocatable mining electrical equipment
- The performance of safety functions required for mining activities and mining electrical equipment
- Risk management.
IMPORTANT: Your New Zealand work experience MUST be completed while holding a Traction Line Mechanic (Endorsed Mining Operations) Trainee Limited Certificate
