Prosecution - EWRB v Naidu

On 7 July 2021, Kamal Naidu was sentenced on two charges of performing prescribed electrical work. In 2019 Mr Naidu completed prescribed electrical work on two occasions at a commercial property in Auckland, including laying wires for an electrical installation and wiring a deep fryer supply lead directly into a socket outlet (without a plug top). Mr Naidu had previously been provisionally registered as an electrician but had been unlicensed since 2009.

Mr Naidu was sentenced to a fine of $1250, along with Court and solicitor’s costs. 90 percent of the fine was ordered to be paid to the Board.
