Toolbox – Learn from others mistakes

The team have added a helpful resource to the electrical workers toolbox called ‘Learn from others mistakes’ where you can do just that. The resource consists of photos and information displaying real life examples of unsafe and non-compliant electrical work. These photos have been taken from a variety of sources including past investigations carried out on behalf of the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

The resource will identify the hazards created, what parts of the wiring rules were breached and will provide good practice guidance associated with the work.

The first three photos included in ‘Learn from others mistakes’ resource highlight unsafe terminations and connection practices. This collection will be added to over time and organised into different categories of electrical work.

The aim of this new resource is to raise awareness and promote the importance of using good trade practices to carry out safe and compliant electrical work across New Zealand.
