Electrical Installer (Endorsed Medical Cardiac Protected Areas)
Required work experience
To become an Electrical Installer (Endorsed Medical Cardiac Protected Areas) you must have:
- Held Registration as an Electrical Installer with the EWRB in New Zealand for a period of not less than 2 years
- Completed not less than 2 years of practical experience in the PEW of an Electrical Installer
- Completed not less than 1 year (2000 hours) of practical experience in a medical cardiac protected area or substantially similar practical experience satisfactory to the Board
- Adequate knowledge, training, skills, and experience satisfactory to the Board of:
- The control of micro and macro shock hazards
- The use of equipotential earthing protection
- The performance of safety functions required for cardiac and body protected areas and medical equipment
- Risk management and inspection.
IMPORTANT: Your New Zealand work experience MUST be completed while holding an Electrical Installer (Endorsed Medical Cardiac Protected Areas) Trainee Limited Certificate.
